The Munim

Munim is a cloud accounting, billing, and GST compliance platform for small and medium businesses in India. We built the product from scratch — a web app, a Windows desktop app, and mobile apps on a single Node.js, Python, and PostgreSQL backend — covering billing, inventory, GST return filing, bank reconciliation, and AI-powered OCR for automated data entry.

One platform, three screens, zero compromises

Small and medium businesses in India were juggling separate tools for billing, inventory, bank reconciliation, and GST filing, with no single, affordable place to manage all of it.

Our Approach

Built from the ground up, across every platform

We designed and built Munim as a single product spanning five pillars, sharing one backend and data model across web, desktop, and mobile.

Core Accounting Engine
Built the ledger, billing, and inventory system on Node.js and PostgreSQL, designed to support single businesses and unlimited multi-company accounts.
GST & Compliance
Implemented GST billing, e-invoicing, e-way bills, and return filing (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and others) so businesses can stay compliant without a separate tool.
Cross-Platform Clients
Shipped a React web app, an Electron.js desktop app for Windows, and Flutter mobile apps for Android and iOS from the same backend.
AI-Powered Data Entry
Used Python services and OpenAI-based OCR to let users scan invoices and expense documents and have the data entered automatically.
Reporting & Reconciliation
Built bank reconciliation and a library of financial reports so owners can see cash flow, receivables, and payables without manual spreadsheet work.
